Babiana stricta (Aiton) Ker Gawl.: t. 621 (1803). Type: South Africa, without precise locality or collector, illustration in Ker Gawl.: t. 621 (1803) [neotype designated by Goldblatt & Manning: 94 (2004)].
Babiana erectifolia G.J.Lewis: 3 (1938).
Babiana stricta var. erectifolia G.J.Lewis: 43 (1959). Type: South Africa, [Western Cape], Brand Vlei, near Worcester, Sept. 1932, G.J. Lewis s.n. as Nat. Bot. Gard 2686/32 (BOL, holo.!).
