As COVID-19 vaccinations begin their spread around the world, we look back upon all the highs and lows of the year 2020. Hopefully the Socially Distant Bioblitz Series was a source of community, enjoyment, and adventure that helped offset your pandemic-relates worries. We aimed high - 100,000 observations from 100 countries - and were proud of our accomplishments! Over the course of 10 events between 5 April and 18 October, we amassed 102,000 observations from 93 countries. Over 5,000 naturalists contributed to this global event by sharing observations or making identifications. We are pleased to recognize the following individuals for their outstanding participation in the Socially Distant Bioblitz Series. Click on the link to access your certificate:

Thanks to the organisers for doing all the admin, and for your contagious enthusiasm! I had so much fun, and learned a lot. Also loved seeing the other interesting observations from around the globe that I would not have seen otherwise.
Let us hope for a new year with less social distancing, but hopefully more bioblitzes!
The series was one of the highlights in a difficult year. A big Thank You to the organizers. You did such a great job communicating with the participants, with lovely journal posts, updates, recognitions and certificates, showcasing observations from around the world... Really outstanding work!!
