California scrub-jay can sing beautifully when it wants to.

Moments later it called softly to its offspring in a quiet, tender caw. Was this lovely song coming from this jay or was it a very impressive version of avian lip syncing? I looked it up online and couldn’t find any information on jays vocalizing anything other than the caw.
