I am a 20 year teacher of mathematics. I have always enjoyed camping but don't consider myself a Naturalist. I am working on a Master's degree in Outdoor Education. I have become interested in how to use nature to stimulate an interest in mathematics. I have seen demonstrations of the Fibonnaci Sequence but am looking for ways to have students discover such sequences or other theorems on their own. Ways to connect students to mathematics through nature or perhaps the other way around.
