I am an entomologist with a passion for teaching. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Entomology. I spent 3 years as a lab manager and my research was on classical biological control of the brown marmorated stink bug. I traveled the state of Michigan and collected native stink bugs to keep in colony. I kept 24 species of native Michigan stink bugs during that time period. Afterwards, I moved out of research and into teaching.

I was the director of education at the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion where I created educational content, ran camps, designed signage for the building and interacted with the public. I resigned in 2021 during the filming of "Bug Out". This is an amazon documentary about the above and underground trade of insects.

Now, I teach virtually to young students through a platform called Outschool. I create educational bug content on my youtube channel: Youtube.com/Insectopia. I also livestream illustration of insects from under my microscope twice per week. Feel free to reach out to me OR just join us on Thursday at 10pm EST or Sunday at 4pm EST on my youtube channel. We chat bugs and have a blast.

I love to travel and collect. You may notice that my observations are all over the country.
