As a child, I was a nature nerdling. I often asked for field guides for Christmas and birthdays. I spent much of my spare time observing and learning about the flora and fauna near my home. Later, I received my BS in zoology from Brigham Young University. Somewhere along the way I got distracted and became a physician. inaturalist.org has given me an outlet to get back to my roots and to begin expanding my knowledge of the flora and fauna around my home again
