The nature center has oodles of homespun charm. Our cozy exhibit hall, lodge gathering space, and classrooms display artifacts and native live animals. You'll encounter even more natural treasures as you explore our trails in Gwynns Falls Leakin Park. We are open Tuesday - Friday, 9AM - 4PM and Saturday - Sunday, 10AM - 3PM.

Carrie Murray Nature Center is a hub for nature connection in the Gwynns Falls Leakin Park. Our facility is owned and operated by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP). We are located among 1216 acres, the largest urban wilderness park east of the Mississippi River.

Our programs serve an estimated 30,000 visitors annually, serving individuals and families as well as groups from schools, churches, recreation centers, and camps. During the school year, the nature center offers field trips and outreach programs for all ages of students, as well as the Wild Haven forest immersion program for preschool-age children. We also offer summer camps, public programs, special events, and volunteer opportunities.

We believe in the power of hands-on, experiential learning. Our programs offer opportunities to meet live animals, explore the park, and develop a relationship with the natural world - right here in Baltimore City.
