BARBOD SAFAEI-MAHROO
is a herpetologist and conservationist with a master’s degree in habitats and biodiversity. Besides, he has been working as the chairman and cofounder of Pars Herpetologists Institute since 2006. His main research interests include anuran acoustic recognition and monitoring and the study of the population size of amphibians, with a particular emphasis on newts as well as the assessment and mitigation of threats on amphibian populations. His researches focus on ecology and behavior of amphibians and the conservation of endangered Iranian herpetofauna.
Barbod is presently involved in evaluating the effectiveness of current protected areas in conserving Iranian amphibians.
