About 14 inches long, black dorsally with 2 yellow stripes laterally and one red dorsal stripe. Light color ventrally.
On flood-plain terrace S. bank. Previously a little upstream basking on footing N. bank.
Western pond turtles are a federal species of concern, and Cerrito Creek would not be prime habitat. Is this someone's (illegal) pet, discarded here but surviving?
