Trans-Pecos Copperhead (Agkistrodon c. pictigaster) - adult freshly DOR, valley floor scrubland of variably dense brush, not far from riparian corridor of creek. Apparently out active and had recently foraged in daylight as the animal had a male Texas Spotted Whiptail as stomach content. Specimen and tissue harvested and retained for voucher, UT/TNHC.

I saw this black bear on a hunting trip in Cloudcroft, NM around 2 pm. It was looking for food and by itself. Maybe 5 ft. tall. The scientific name is Ursus americanus amblyceps. FYI I did not shoot him.
