This bee is very bald. Most of the hair has been rubbed off its abdomen, making it look like a carpenter bee. But its size, clear wings, black face and vertex and the mixture of yellow and black hairs on the top of its thorax which is otherwise covered in yellow hairs, suggests that this is a common eastern bumble bee that is nectaring the flowers of a stonecrop plant growing in the garden on the north side of Budd Sugarman Park in the Rosedale neighborhood of the city of Toronto.
