Calmar juvénile observé lors du relevé du chalut de fond par MPO / Juvenile squid observed during bottom trawl survey by DFO. Collection IML no. 11760. z = -106 m.
Approx 3.5 / 4 inches. Found in the stomach of a Yellowfin Tuna
Washed up freshly dead.
Collected on beach c.500 metres north of photo. Took photo in more sheltered place. An almost perfect specimen. Herbertville beach, south of Cape Turnagain.
I was so focused on keeping up with the squid to get the photos, I didn't notice I interrupted the poor thing in the middle of a meal. I find it fascinating you can see the swallowed fish head inside the squid.

Some sort of squid (not sure if alive or dead) at Point Lobos/Big Sur. It was about 1000 feet away so images are not clear but it was a very large squid. Very interesting.
