The City of St. Louis is developing an urban
biodiversity inventory, and aspires to have
habitat in six urban locations monitored for the
presence or absence of surrogate species.
All species observations collected via the free
iNaturalist app are useful and relevant for this
purpose, but the priority focus will be on data
relating to a set of species selected as
collective indicators of high urban
biodiversity. To learn more about the
surrogate species, contact the Office of
Sustainability at StLouis-mo.gov/UVE.
This is the guide to Urban Prairie Indicator species in St. Louis.
