The congregation continues...
First seen on March 7th ( https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/108088726 ) and the party is going strong from almost one month. The gang stuck together on the same leaf on the tree

Witnessed the drama of spider wasp chasing the spider and finally succeeded in grabbing it, cut off it's limbs and carry it. A true cat and mouse game. Noticed how the wasp kept bending its abdomen while searching. I am also curious to know how it finds the spider accurately despite it dashing and hiding in multiple places? Could it smell the spider presence (some chemicals?). Instincitvely it chopped off the limbs as the spider was rushing off in seconds to new hiding spot

Crab spiders belonging to the genus Thomisus are generalist hunters whose diet mainly consists of pollinators like Flies, Bees and Butterflies.
But the list doesn't end there. In fact they hunt other critters like Ants, Grasshoppers, Dragonflies, Damselflies, Caterpillars and other spiders.

Here a female Crab Spider had managed to take down a Weaver ant queen. Which perhaps was searching for a suitable spot to lay the first clutch of eggs and start a flourishing colony.

ಮರಳು ಗಣಿಗಾರಿಕೆ, ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕಡಜಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನ ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಮರಳು ಗಣಿಗಾರಿಕೆ ಅತ್ಯಾವಶ್ಯ.
ಹೌದು, ವಯಸ್ಕ ಕಡಜವು ಮರಳು ರಾಶಿ ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ರಂಧ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೋಡುತ್ತದೆ. ತನ್ನ ಮುಂಬದಿಯ ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಒಟ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲು ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುವ ತಾಕತ್ತು ಅವಕ್ಕಿದೆ !
ಸುಮಾರು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸೆಂಟಿಮೀಟರ್ ಉದ್ದನೆಯ ನಾಳವನ್ನೇ ತೋಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನಾಳದ ಒಳಗೆ ಕಡಜವು ಮೊಟ್ಟೆ ಇಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯು ಕಂಬಳಿಹುಳ ಆಗುವಾಗ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಮೂರ್ಛೆಗೊಳಿಸಿಸ ಡಜನ್ ಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ನೋಣಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಶಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ.
ಒಂದು ನಾಳದ ಒಳಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆ. ಈ ಕಡಜವು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಗೂ ಒಂದೊಂದು ನಾಳವನ್ನು ತೋಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಾವ ಮರಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಇರದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.
ಒಂದೊಂದು ಮರಿಗೂ, ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ತಾಯಿ ಇದು, ಈ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟೊಂದು ನೊಣಗಳ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗಮನಿಸಿ. ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಅವಲಂಭನೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ.
ಈಗೀಗ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಬದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ತೋಡಿನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕಾದ್ಷ್ಟು ಮರಳು ಇರದ ಕಾರಣ ಇಂಥಾ ಕಡಜಗಳು ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಮರೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಇವು ಮರೆಯಾದರೆ , ಇದರ ಆಹಾರವಾಗಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲ ಪ್ರಬೇಧದ ನೊಣಗಳು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ಅಸಮತೋಲನ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂಥಾ ಅಸಮತೋಲನ ಮಾನವನಿಗೆ ರೋಗದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಅಸಮತೋಲನವಾದರೂ ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಿವೆಗೆ ಬರುವುದು ಖಾಯಿಲೆಯ ಮೂಲಕವೇ !
ಇಂಥಾ ಅಸಮತೋಲನೆಯಿಂದ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವ ಖಾಯಿಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವ ಲಸಿಕೆಗಳು ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರದು.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸುಲಭದ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಇದೆ. ಅದುವೇ ಪರಿಸರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ.
ಪ್ರತಿ ಜೀವಿಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿದರೆ , ಅವಕ್ಕೆ ಬದುಕಲು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ, ನಾವೂ ಈ ಪಾರಿಸಾರಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ.
