Favoritos de seahound

When we 1st noticed this gall on S. Red Oak (Quercus falcata) we thought ants were on the gall, they were so small. But then we realized that the gall had tiny wasps (we think) on it. Photo 1 shows the gall. Photo 2 shows the small S. Red Oak that it was on. Photos 3 & 4 show the tiny wasps that were associated with the gall.
