Favoritos de driley

Location is exact. Found with Laura Bond and Miguel Portura, on the trail southeast of the community of Mituseño Urania. We flushed the tinamou off the trail but it luckily settled in the nearby forest and we were able to track it down and have great looks and poor photos. An almost mythical species that is known from white sand forest in southeastern Colombia, southwestern Venezuela and northern Peru. I am only aware of two other photographs of this species. Needless to say, this was the bird of the trip!
