The first 3 images show the Halteria I was following. The 4th image is a gif showing a characteristic jump. The next 7 images show still shots of a jump taken at 60 frames/sec. I wanted to see how the bristles worked but clearly 60f/s is too slow. An additional problem pointed out to me by Michael Plewka is that the little guy jumps in 3 dimensions which takes him out of the plane of focus. I would love to see a video that actually captures how the bristles initiate and accomplish a jump.
