After the incredible experience of my mid-August visit with birding pals to very-wet Big Bend NP, I got home, packed up my family and headed right back out to see more of the display (2nd image). In the 3rd image, I will confidently identify the pollen on my shores as coming from the present species. Thymophylla can germinate and bloom suddenly and abundantly in arid desert flats which are barren for 90% of the year in 9 out of 10 years.
