I’m not sure if this is a CA Bumble Bee. The white hairs just below the face seemed tufted, a bit too long and white. But maybe that’s a question of age and wear and tear? The bee was feeding on Woodsorrel flowers in one of the grass fields here.
Las Virgenes Creek Trail
Pin isn’t exact, probably +- 30 meters along this trail from the point.
Feeding on California Buttercup, alongside several beetles.
From pic 5: the bee was suddenly jumped by another bee (food fight? mating attempt?) who quickly left. There were at least 20 juicy looking buttercups available to feed on (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/72368226).
