Female Hairy Woodpecker, an infrequent visitor at cylinder feeder. Winnipeg (Transcona), Manitoba, Canada
Found in its last moments, unfortunately flew into a window, around 2:17pm on a somewhat breezy sunny day (72°) may the grosbeak rest in peace.
Growing on a Oregon white oak log in the Coburg Hills.
Growing in a sunny site on the crest of a rocky butte in Goshen. The tree stump, which appears to belong to a former Q. garryana tree, was cut to clear space for powerlines. Camassia seed heads were abundant around this site. It seems to be one of few prairie sites on this hill that remains somewhat intact.
