I have moved a couple of the naturally occurring Asters into my yard to protect them long enough to try to identify. This one has very stiff leaves and rough. It is blooming just ahead of the other one that isn't as stiff but looks identical leaf and plant wise.
Couldn't resist such a good pose right behind our cabin.
correction - likely a juvenile male by the black marks on the head and not a female like I thought at first.
