I came across this fly while out to dinner. It stayed near us cause of our food and drinks since we were sitting outside.
I was making sure that all the dogs have water at APA and i realized this Gecko inside a dog water bowl. It was a yellowish-cream color with some brown spots. I tried getting it out of the bowl but it came back. It was probably just trying to cool off from the heat?
As I was filling my car with gasoline, I spotted this walkingstick climbing up a cement pole at the Express Gas Station on Manchaca Rd on a warm and sunny afternoon.
Temperature was warm and humid with recent heavy rain. Picture was taken on the side of a trail.
(What could possibly be Turk's Cap), this plant has relatively small red flowers sprouting from the tops. The leaves are quite large (approx. 7 inches long).

Although I believe it to be a Malvaviscus, I am not 100% certain what this plant is. It has a bright red flower blooming from it in multiple spaces and it was on a grassy hillside.
