Identified by visual observation as well as vocalizations. Merlin also identified this bird as a golden-cheeked warbler by its vocalizations. Submitted to eBird through Merlin.
Label says C. alternifolia, but leaves are not arranged alternately on the stems.
Looks like C. florida.

A distant Chuck-Will's-Widow can be heard in the distance, almost drowned out by road noise and the sounds of Cliff Chirping Frogs in the foreground.
Various chirps and trills can be heard throughout the 43 sec recording. One frog is closer to me; two or three others were more distant (< 50 yards). Recorded with Voice Memo app on iPhone 14. High and low pass filters applied with Audacity software to minimize noise.
