Ventana Wildlife Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to conserving native wildlife and their habitats along the coast of central California through research, restoration, education and collaboration.

Our Salinas River Transect Program (SART) consists of 24 weekly outdoor classes throughout the school year for four different groups of at-risk and/or underserved teens, each culminating in a week-long overnight camping trip of through the Salinas Valley watershed. Our curriculum focuses on the Salinas Valley and the central coast as a watershed of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The camping transect component will pull together all aspects of the weekly classes to provide students with the ultimate watershed field experience.
