An ongoing effort to document the species present on a semi-rural/suburban subdivision lot. Lot size is 0.6 ha. Based on mature remnant trees present, it was formerly a late-seral stage eastern hemlock-red spruce-white pine-red maple forest, with northern white cedar in the wetter portions. A heavy partial harvest about 30 years ago added a compliment of early successional stage species. A house was constructed about 20 years ago: it and the associated lawn and driveway now comprise a significant portion of the lot area. A small, 3m diameter constructed pond, and a sphagnum-lined ditch under a hackmatack canopy, add an aquatic element. menos ↑
