Burnt Easter Bioblitz 2020

The Ermelo Stewardship (which also has an iNaturalist project) - a private nature reserve - was completely burnt on the evening of 8 October 2019 by the leading front of the Busby's Flat wildfire. Despite several small rainfall events, the site failed to get significant rain until nearly a hundred days later. Between mid January and mid February the site received more than 450 mm of rain - much more than the entirety of 2019 (379 mm).

So, let's see what has come back following the fire and the extraordinarily dry time prior and immediately after. By creating a list of all the species of life we see, we can collect a good swathe of data form a site that will continue to get good management. menos ↑
