Observações de selwynq

All four owlets are now fully fledged and are already flying a considerable distance from the nest. Parent are very busy feeding. Looks like there is food transfer between the male and female and the female then brings the food to the owls. The owls at this stage are able to swallow their food whole. Surprisingly, the most common meal seems to be rats but here the mom seems to be have a gopher?

Not sure if this is one of the pair of mangy coyotes hanging around the parking lot and meadow at Rancho but if so the mange has gotten a lot worse. There are now also 'coyote alert' notices posted around the park warning visitors of unusual coyote behaviour and not to approach.
