Summary 2

The Snowshoe Hare is the larger of Wisconsin's two rabbit species. In the summer it is all-brown. At this time, it can be told from the Eastern Cottontail by larger size, and larger ears with black tips. In the winder the coat turns all white and is distinctive.

Range 3

Northern half of the state.

Habitat 3

Coniferous forests.

Size 3

15-20", tail 1-2".
