Flower: Pink rounded clusters
Leaves: oval to rounded triangular, up to 2½ inches long and 1¼ inches wide, toothless, hairless, rounded tip, rounded base, no leaf stalk, larger leaves somewhat clasping stem and often angled up, blue-green, sometimes tinged purple, underside dotted with brown or black glands
Fruit/Seed: dark red, 3-sectioned capsule ¼ to ½ inch long, abruptly tapered to sharply pointed tip
Height: 1-2 feet
Flowering: July - August
Habitat: bogs, marshes, fens, along shores
