Flower: White daisy-like
Leaves: lance-linear, 1 to 6 inches long, less than ¼ inch wide, hairless except sparse hairs on midvein on underside and minute hairs around edge, basal leaves broader, more variable in shape, winged, sheathing stalks, wither away by flowering time along with the lower stem leaves, mid and upper stem leaves stalkless and nearly clasping
Fruit/Seed: dry seed with tuft of white hair
Height: 6-36 inches
Flowering: July - October
Habitat: fens, wet meadows, along shores, swamps, bogs, swales
