Flower: Yellow pyramid shaped cluster
Leaves: no basal rosette, strongly 3-nerved, 2-7½ inches long, ¼-1¼ inches wide, long and narrow, broadest near the middle, tapering to sharp point at tip, stalkless, edges sharply toothed, leaves are largest near mid-stem
Fruit/Seed: dry seed with a tuft of light brown hair
Height: 2-5 feet
Flowering: July - October
Habitat: fields, along roads, open woods, wetland edges
