Flower: Green/yellow rounded cluster
Leaves: oppositely arranged, elliptical to egg-shaped, 1-5 inches long, tip pointed, base round to wedge-shaped, stalk about half as long as leaf blade, thin and somewhat translucent, three prominent ,surfaces shiny with scattered short hairs on upper surface, edges toothed
Fruit/Seed: flattened, teardrop shaped seed, up to 1/16 inch long, half as wide as long
Height: 4-20 inches
Flowering: July - September
Habitat: moist shaded woods, wetlands, wooded shores
