Flower: White rounded cluster around stem
Leaves: up to 3 inches long and 1 inch wide, coarsely toothed around edges, generally lance-elliptic, pointed tip, wedge-shaped base, on a short stalk, oppositely attached with leaf pairs at right angles to the pair above and below
Fruit/Seed: set of 4 nutlets forming a square, each nutlet containing a single seed
Height: 6-30 inches
Flowering: July - September
Habitat: Shores, wet meadows
