Flower: Red odd-shaped
Leaves: Highly modified, ascending closed tubular structure, 6 to 8 inches long, fills with rainwater and digestive enzymes, typically green with purple veining on hair-covered surface of lip
Fruit/Seed: round, 5-sectioned capsule 3/8 to ¾ inch in diameter, containing numerous brown seeds
Height: 1-2 feet
Flowering: May - August
Habitat: Peat bogs
Other: This is a carnivorous plant that traps and digests insects in its tube shaped leaves.
