Description ²

• Fronds: single, egg-shaped to oblong in outline, up to 10 pairs of leaflets
• Spores: fertile frond branches from sterile frond near the ground, fertile frond 1-2 times as long as sterile frond, spores develop along branches in small, round capsules
• Height: 4-16 inches
• Habitat: meadows, open woods
