Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
Flower: Yellow tubular shaped
Leaves: 1½-3½ inches long, 1-2 inches wide, edges toothless but fringed in fine hairs
Bark: brown – gray, often peeling in strips
Fruit/Seed: pair of berries, bright red, oval, each ¼-1/3 inch long, the pair point in opposite directions
Height: 2-4 feet
Flowering: May - June
Habitat: woods
