Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Coccyzus americanus

Summary 4

Yellow-billed Cuckoos are rare and secretive visitors to the Arboretum during spring and fall migration. These birds are roughly the same size as a mockingbird, with a very long black-and-white tail. They prefer to hide deep in vegetation, especially near water, and hunt for caterpillars and fruit to eat.
