I've been living on Whidbey Island in WA State for about 23 years. I'm a member of Licheneers of North Puget Sound and especially enjoy studying lichens, native plants, human & plant evolution, biodiversity, birding, and appreciating the structures and patterns present in nature.

I enjoy ethno-botanical pursuits including wild harvesting of local berries, nettles, mushrooms and plants for food, medicine and natural dyeing, and have taught indoor/outdoor classes of all ages and backgrounds in these subjects.

Most recently, I've been enjoying observing our island's lone elk that swam over from the mainland to our island six years ago in September.

For over 30 years I've been deeply immersed in the Coast Salish traditions and cultures and have learned traditional methods of harvest and using plants for basketry and food.
