20 January 2019 - Dawn Goley

I went to the Arcata Marsh at 13:00 today to take photos of plants and animals as a test run for the Biodiversity Project for Science 100. It was raining and had been raining for the past 3 days. I took photos of radishes, plantain, thistles, willows and coots and uploaded them to inaturalist.

Journal should have the following components:

Time/Date/Place of observations
Logistics of travel and time spent at Marsh - Who you were with, how you got to the marsh, mileage, total time spent at marsh and total time spent at marsh including travel to/from.

Summary of Activities at Marsh -

Phenology Project- Summarize your observations of the willow - be very specific. Summarize the details of the habitat, weather and anything that would contribute to your understanding of the status of the willow.

Biodiversity Project - Summarize the nature of each photo - where exactly did you take the photo, describe the organism (in detail) that you photographed - include color, size, growth pattern or behaviour...

Overall summary - personal/academic summary - what did you learn, what were the most positive and what were the most challenging aspects of your time in the field? How will what you did/learned today help you next time? Give yourself an idea of what to do differently or the same next time.
