21. Gewogen schatten van Locatie adhv voorgaande en vorige waarnemingen

Bij iNaturalist is het mogelijk om bij waarnemingen zonder locatie, coordinaten deze door iNaturalist zelf te laten schatten. Dit heet "interpolate_coordinates=true" en is handig om in elk geval de foto vlak bij de goede locatie te zetten. Dit gebeurt op een tijdstip gewogen manier.
Nadat dit geschat is door de website kun je natuurlijk elf nog even de locatie tweaken, maar heel erg vaak zul je in elk geval al met de coordinaten in de buurt zitten.

This is a weird URL hack that’s existed for some time but we’ve never worked into the UI (mostly b/c it’s so niche and kind of hard to explain, but maybe we should), but if you have an obs that has no coordinates and you have other obs from the same day and all those obs from that day have times, appending ?interpolate_coordinates=true to the edit observation URL (the URL you’re at when you’re editing an obs, e.g. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/edit?interpolate_coordinates=true) will fill in coordinates based on a time-weighted average of the nearest observations in time.

Wanneer de Mieren, Hommels en Bijen goed geAnnoteerd zijn kun je dit soort plaatjes maken:
De opkomst en ondergang van de diverse stadia zoals mannetjes die maar kort leven en koninginnnen die het oudst worden.
Je kunt dan zien in welke maand van het jaar een soort zwermt en wanneer de eerste weksters verschijnen.
