Born and grew up in Belarus (then USSR). Studied Physics but worked in many different fields. Last 30+ years live in Alabama. Main interest - biodiversity of Alabama. 20 years with more than 1,000 field trips around Alabama while counting butterflies and taking their pictures have resulted in Alabama Butterfly Atlas: https://alabama.butterflyatlas.usf.edu/
