I have been interested in nature since I was about 6. Even then I was highly aware of habitat loss due to development in my area. I wrote the then President and received a box of brochures. I worked in environmental organizations for a number of years but found that my many letters went unnoticed by politicians.

I'm older now and want to continue advocating for the wild places. I'm still a working jolene but I get out as much as I can. I have the privilege to travel for work so I have observations from various places in my territory. Also a good many of these observations are out of my own yard and a plot that we own. My hubby and I have diligently worked to enhance the native diversity of our private spaces. Hey, it's a start!
