I'm a Hoosier working as a watershed conservation technician in the Blackland Prairie of North Texas after returning to school from my first career (as a teacher) to study environmental science and public affairs.

I spent recent seasons with federal and state agencies monitoring endangered Piping Plovers in the Michigan UP before moving to Central Texas to wear various hats as an urban wildlife intern, chronic wasting disease technician, and WMA tech on and around the Edwards Plateau.

I'm practicing the bird IDs usually but still learning many of the plants and insects for the first time, so really I appreciate identifications, corrections, and diagnostic comments on my observations.
