About me: Learning more about the woods, and rivers of Appalachia and the Alleghenies. Engineer by trade, naturalist by interest. Most recently my life has been taken over by birds, at least in Spring, but I am trying to balance it with insects, flowers and plants to a good extent. For bird IDs alone, I use ebird under the name narienergy.

I have slowly gotten into (nature) photography in the last two years. Started off as an attempt to get close-up bird pictures. After extensive research and a small budget, I started with a superzoom bridge camera Sony HX400V. A couple months ago I got a Nikon D7500 cropsensor DSLR. In the last two years, I have been taking pictures of flowers, fungi, plants, insects, spiders, snakes, mammals, and definitely birds!

Travel:
Since this January, I have started traveling for "nature/photography" events. Jan 2019 - I went to Space coast birding festival, Titusville FL (near Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge- NWR). Feb, I went to Tampa FL (to visit a friend), and spent lot of time photographing shorebirds. In May, I went to the "biggest week in birding" held at Magee Marsh - Black Swamp Bird Observatory, Oak Harbor FL.

I have been to Spuce Knob WV in Aug for night sky photography.
