Marah macrocarpa seed pods

Neat! This species seems to range mostly south of San Luis Obispo County. It would be good for people to gather their own that they grow. Of course we shouldn't harvest anything from public protected wild spaces, even if the plant is common.
Who would’ve thought that something so spikey could have a heart you’d want to rub all over your face?! Cool.
