Event Description


Coyote Hills Regional Park contains nearly 978 acres of marshland and rolling grassland covered hills. It has grand diversity and richness of birds, native or naturalized plants, and many other plants and animals, many of which are already represented on iNaturalist.

ISMC will host a photographic survey of insects at Coyote Hills and post findings on iNaturalist. Photographs will also be used to create a mini-guide for Coyote Hills and be added to the Insects of San Francisco Bay Area field guide (isfba.bugpeople.org).

ALSO ...
Coyote Hills will, concurrently, host an invertebrate program. ISMC will volunteer bug hikes, speakers and tabled items.

Project Information: Bioblitzers will use the iNaturalist app to upload photographs. Create an iNaturlaist account and join the project.

Bring: Please bring your camera(s), flashes, spare batteries and other photography equipment.
Wear: Comfortable footwear (there will be some light hiking), a brimmed hat for the sun.
