During my expedition through the desert lands, I encountered the enigmatic Straight-faced Windscorpion. These fascinating creatures, also known as solifuges, are arachnids found in arid regions worldwide. What intrigued me the most was their unique appearance, with elongated bodies and distinctive mouthparts giving them a somewhat intimidating presence. Despite their fearsome appearance, Straight-faced Windscorpions are harmless to humans and primarily feed on insects, making them valuable predators in their ecosystem. Witnessing them dart across the desert sands with incredible speed was a captivating sight, highlighting their remarkable adaptations to life in harsh environments.

These "windscorpions" were the largest I have ever seen, c. 1 inch head/body. Fast and nimble, as usual. Anyone know which species gets this large? Found right next to the Colorado River.
