I think this is a different species from the one seen previously on a different part of Abrahams Bosom Walking Track.
Mature invasive coastal native dense large shrubs on the narrow remnant foredune strip on esplanade between town centre/causeway and Rosetta Head.Originally from Victoria and extended naturally only as far west as SA's lower SE coastal region,if that.(Consensus on natural range has varied considerably over my lifetime based on what I'd read from decade to decade so even now I may be over or understating current expert consensus WRT occurrence in SA.).However the Victor Harbor LGA vegetation management authorities are progressively replacing these frontline coastal 'windbreaks' with a wide mix of the original local natives , in a commendable manner. The main canopy small trees and large shrubs that fit the role and are being heavily planted include Myoporum insulare and Allocasuarina verticillata and those species do allow survival of understory plantings whereas L laevigatum tends to form dense thickets that reduce botanical diversity greatly.
