I absolutely detest cold weather, but I always look forward to this fleeting moment during the first hard freeze of the winter.
For some reason, the trail camera has a hard time getting a useful image of an Orange-crowned Warlber.
Kinglets are winter residents in small numbers in the yard--they're here all the time--but the trail camera is rarely triggered by this small species.
The agility of Ringtails is apparent in many images my trail camera captures. This is the best "stop action" image as this animal lept onto the edge of the bird bath.
