Spotted owl white wash for trackers. Owl for those who are uncertain ( it’s a terrible photo…location has been moved and obscured to protect the spot…only posted as a reference for trackers, if I could have only posted the white wash I would have).
blind fish from cave? in ditch of creek
Numerous!
Obligatory photo-with-big-cactus
A few scattered in moss surrounding large puddle. Lots of cool mushroom in this habitat.
So my friend’s wife works at SF animal control and had a snake brought into the office. It was found in the hallway of a hotel by Mission and 4th near the Metreon. My friend thought it was a native sharp-tailed but the pics look more like an earthsnake from the eastern US...unfortunately my friend took it out of the jar to get better pics for me, pulled a butterfingers and accidentally dropped and released it in Telegraph Canyon up Claremont Ave in Oakland...never trust a birder lol! So now we have a possibly introduced snake species roaming the East Bay hills. Unless it’s a sharp tailed/forest sharp-tailed, but I suspect it must’ve traveled here in someone’s luggage and escaped in the hotel. And this is how species get introduced, good job humans.
Unknown small snake about 8 inches long. Brown skin color. Head eaten away and unable to observe. Little or no patterns
